Cost of Living in Cyprus
This is only a guide based on our experience and preferences. When you are out and
about we hope, like us, you always eat well. You may spend more or you may spend
less. We have never been disappointed, but then we nearly always prefer to eat
where the local residents do.

Supermarkets:
All the supermarkets are good, whether you want the local "pop-in" for a quick top-up, or a major shopping experience (eg. Ophanides or Carrefour). Prices are pretty comparable with the UK, and very often cheaper. Certain imported, branded goods are more expensive (as you would expect). We are in awe at the variety of produce available in an island nation. The variety and freshness of fresh produce, be it fish, meat, dairy, fruit or vegetables, makes it worth eating in on some occasions. Be it a snack or a feast, enjoy its preparation in your own luxury kitchen, sip a sunset cocktail on the lovely terrace, and then savour dinner under the stars.
Visiting a local bakery and being faced with making a decision out of what is on offer, again at very reasonable prices, is an enjoyable experience.
Fuel:
| Litre of unleaded petrol | considerably cheaper than the UK! |
The above is, of course, only a guide as prices can fluctuate by location and time.
